    Recently, UTMB released a smartphone app called “utmbHealthyBrain” to the Apple and Google Play App Stores and it is listed by the Moody Library as one of useful apps: https://guides.utmb.edu/apps. This app provides an important function – mindfulness – as a result of combining both Eastern and Western cultures.

    Dr. Shannon Guillot-Wright is Vice Chair of Research and Health Policy in the Department of Family Medicine, and Health Policy Research Director at the Center for Violence Prevention was recently awarded a $660,000 grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control funding a 5yr research project to address health disparities for commercial fishermen and to bring medical professionals to the fishing docks to provide primary care services.
