On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Family Medicine Researcher, Dr. Wei-Chen Lee hosted the 2025 United Nations Interfaith Annual Event at the First Lutheran Church, in Galveston, TX as part of mini grant she received from Humanities Texas. Humanities Texas is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that supports programs contributing to Texas’s thriving economy, culture, and civic life. Aligning with the mission of United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week (UN-WIHW), this Galveston event promotes understanding and cooperation between people of different faiths including Buddhism, Catholic, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Orthodox, and Unitarian Universalism. Different religious leaders jointly advocated for ideals of peace, interfaith dialogues, and more cooperation between religious communities. Finally, the planning committee also wants to thank other services and supports from UTMB catering, First Lutheran Church of Galveston, Rotary Club of Galveston, BLIA-Dallas, and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston County.
