Feb 24, 2011, 09:43 AM by Julia Essex

In honor of Dorothy Trevino’s 37 years of providing patient care and educating tomorrows doctors in behavior medicine, Family Medicine gave tribute to Dr. Trevino by hosting her retirement party on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in UTMB’s Caduceus Room. Surrounded by friends and colleagues, Dr. Trevino was praised for her dedication, compassion and tireless service to Family Medicine since the beginning of the origination of the department.  Colleagues Barbara Thompson, MD, Alice Anne O’Donell, MD, and Victor Sierpina, MD spoke about Dr. Trevino and her vast accomplishments during her tenure. Dr. Thompson, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine, presented her with the gift of a chair, custom monogrammed with the UTMB seal, her name and dates of service.

Although Dr. Trevino is retiring she will continue to educate resident physicians.  “I can’t leave, I’m not done” –Dorothy Trevino
