Are you ready for the NRMP Match? Your rank order list is due by February 26, 2014, and we're here to help you navigate this important process. The Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) will host its annual "Strolling Through the Match" event on Thursday, July 18 at 5:30pm in the Primary Care Pavilion's upstairs conference room, 2.268. The event is open to all UTMB medical students and attendees do not need to be interested in family medicine.

During the dinner and interactive seminar, attendees will discuss a variety of topics, including the residency application process, timelines, evaluating programs, how the “Match” works, and tips and tricks for writing CVs and personal statements, interviewing, and etiquette. All attendees will also receive a copy of the American Academy of Family Physicians' Strolling Through the Match guidebook (while supplies last).

Leading the discussion will be representatives from four Texas family medicine programs, including the UTMB Health Family Medicine Residency Program, the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Sugarland, the Conroe Family Medicine Residency Program, and the Waco Family Medicine Residency Program.

For more information or to sign up, please contact one of the FMIG co-presidents, Carah Coyne Howe and Yolan Shaw.

The Family Medicine Interest Group is an interest group for medical students at UTMB Health who are interested in Family Medicine.
