Dr. Schulz joined the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health in 2026. He is a resident physician in training at the Family Medicine Clinic – Island East. Dr. Schulz earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Quantitative Sciences on the Bioinformatics Track with a focus on Epigenomics from UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and his Doctor of Medicine from UT Houston McGovern Medical School .
Dr. Schulz is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Schulz's academic and clinical interests are in geriatrics and palliative care, diseases of the aging (neurodegenerative diseases), progressive illness (schizophrenia) and epigenomic dysregulation in aging and disease.
