A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. TURNIL
Hello, I’m Sharon Turnil. I was born in St. Peter’s, Missouri but have lived on Long Island in New York for most of my life and now I am happy to call Texas home. I received a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Stony Brook and Doctorate of Medicine from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
My experiences both at home and abroad, have not only helped to solidify the childhood conviction that Family Medicine is the specialty that suites me, but allows for the opportunity to serve my patients in a way that encompasses the needs of the whole person at every stage of life. The Family Medicine program here at UTMB has been extremely supportive, with a desire to see our growth as Physicians. My attendings and fellow residents have helped to challenge my abilities and encourage me every step of the way. It is with great hope that I look towards the future of Family Medicine and the part I am able to take part in.
