A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. KONOPNICKI
My name is Sarah Konopnicki. I am originally from
Long Island, NY, however my parents immigrated from Russia, and I grew up with
Russian as my first language. I received by Bachelor of Science in Biology from
Stony Brook University in New York and earned my medical degree at Rocky Vista
University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado.
I fell in love with Family Medicine as a specialty
because of its breadth of practice and the privilege of forming long-term
relationships with my patients. As a Family Medicine physician, I have the
unique opportunity to improve not only the health of an individual but an
entire community. I met my husband in medical school, and we were extremely
excited to couples match at UTMB, as our respective programs provided us with
strong academics, patient diversity, and lack of snow. My career interests
include full spectrum practice including inpatient and outpatient practice,
academics, women’s health, and addiction medicine.
As I progress through my
training, I am excited to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to the
Galveston community and to continue learning from my patients, co-residents,
and attending faculty.
