A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. JETTY
Hi! My name is Lee Jetty. I was born and raised here in Houston, Texas. I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, majoring in Biology. After, I pursued and completed a degree in Chemistry from the University of Houston.
I always knew I wanted a career in medicine which my mother, an excellent emergency room nurse, highly influenced. I went to Grenada to attend St. George’s University for medical school. Since then, I have traveled across the United States and Europe to complete clinical rotations at various hospitals and outpatient settings.
Through my diverse clinical exposure, I knew that I wanted to go into family medicine as it provides an opportunity to practice medicine throughout the lifespan, give back, and make a difference in my patients’ lives. I am glad to be a part of UTMB’s Family Medicine Residency program as this is my chance to serve my home state and be closer to my friends and family. In the future, I hope to practice in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.
Outside of medicine, I love traveling, experiencing different cultures, learning about history, building computers, and spending time with my wife and daughter. During my days off, we usually watch a lot of sports, eat out and explore the city.
