A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. BROWN

Howdy! Dr. Kerrie Brown here! I’m a proud Texas native, born and raised in Midland. After graduating from high school, I began my journey in the Primary Care Pathway Program, a seven-year pipeline through Midland College, the University of North Texas, and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This program was created to help train future primary care physicians to serve rural and underserved communities, and it perfectly aligned with my passion for giving back to the kind of community I grew up in.

Throughout medical school, my desire to serve others only grew stronger. I participated in a medical mission trip offering free clinics in South Texas and worked on research that explored how certain groups face higher risks when it comes to breast cancer. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of how social and medical factors can impact health, and it reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, informed care for every patient.

After graduating from medical school, my partner and I were thrilled to return to a close-knit community where we could plant roots and make a lasting impact. We moved to the island with our two cats and two dogs, and we’ve loved every second of it. In my downtime, I enjoy walking my doggos, working out, doing hot yoga, baking and cooking, hunting for new coffee shops, reading thriller novels, and playing games on my Switch. I’m also a big plant lover. I’ve got quite the collection, and yes, they all have names!

My goal is to become a full-spectrum family medicine physician who takes a holistic approach to care. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the illness, and I’m passionate about learning and offering integrative and alternative treatment options when appropriate. I also hope to continue creating outreach programs both locally and internationally to serve those who need it most.

I can’t wait to meet you and walk alongside you in your health journey!
