A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. BHARUCHA
Hey everyone! My name is Het Bharucha. I was born in a small town in India called Bilimora but raised pretty much my whole life in Dickinson, Tx. I went to Austin for my undergraduate studies and became a Longhorn. Hook ‘em! From there, I put my Guns Up and attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the west Texas town of El Paso for medical school.
Going into medical school, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in Family Medicine. Its holistic nature and focus on continuity of care was something that drew me considerably. I just love making connections with my patients! UTMB Galveston was a no-brainer for me because to me, it’s home. Participating meaningfully in the community that helped raise me was an opportunity that I did not want to forego!
In my free time, you can find me on the basketball court, exploring new places, hiking, and catching the next blockbuster at the movies. Family medicine gives me the luxury to pursue my interests outside of medicine!
I am absolutely enjoying my time here at UTMB. The team here is amazing and the training has been exceptional. I can’t wait to see how I grow as a person and a professional. It’ll surely be one to remember!
