A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. BRIDWELL

Hello, I am Dr. Dylan Bridwell. I am originally from Wichita, Kansas born and raised. I went to Baylor University for my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry where I fell in love with Texas. Sic’em Bears. I went back up north to Kansas City for my Masters in Biomedical Sciences at KCUMB and went to medical school at KCUMB as well to receive my doctorate of osteopathic medicine. I also met and married my wife while in Kansas City. We plan to live in a small rural Texas town in the future where I can practice medicine in an underserved rural area so we were excited to come back to Texas. We have 2 dogs and our first child, a son, was born at the UTMB Galveston Hospital. My wife and I love Galveston and we take our son and dogs to the beach whenever we can. When I am not spending quality time with my family, I enjoy cheering for the Baylor Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, and Oklahoma City Thunder and enjoy fishing, hunting, and grilling as well.

I have known I wanted to become a Doctor since a young age, but through mission trips to poor border towns in the rio grande valley and seeing the need for doctors in these poor rural underserved areas this desire to become a

doctor truly became a calling to serve such communities. I plan to become a full spectrum family medicine doctor that works both out patient in the clinic and inpatient in the hospital and also plan to do an obstetrics fellowship because I am passionate about delivering babies as well. I am truly blessed to be in this profession and truly enjoy getting to know my patients and hear their stories while helping them with their healthcare needs during my time at UTMB here in Galveston.
