A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. JONES
Hi! My name is Amy Jones. I’m originally from southern California, but I consider Austin home. I didn’t go far for college, attending Texas State University in San Marcos. I moved to the Galveston area for medical school and was thrilled to continue my medical training at UTMB for residency. I love treating patients of all ages and how diverse Family Medicine is. There is never a boring day in Family Medicine!
I was drawn to this program in particular for its successful sports medicine track. I have been involved in sports my entire life, and I am an avid sports fan (hockey, baseball, and college football are my personal favorites to watch). Attending Galveston community sporting events has been a highlight of residency. Treating student athletes for various acute injuries, delving into the psychological aspect of sports, and being involved in rehabilitation of athletes are just a few aspects of sports medicine that I am interested in.
In my free time, I enjoy Crossfit, walking my two hyperactive dogs, traveling, anything Marvel, and finding the best chai tea latte. I hope to stay in Texas to practice medicine for many years to come.
