This year the Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS) will be honoring Barbara Thompson, MD, Professor and Chair of the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine, and Joan Richardson, MD, Professor and Chair of the UTMB Health Department of Pediatrics. Both Drs. Thompson and Richardson have been long time supporter of GIHS and we look forward to seeing them honored at this favorite annual event.
Dr. Thompson and Dr. Richardson will be honored by GIHS at their 20th Annual PAWS Gala, which will be held on January 15, 2022 at the Galveston Island Convention Center. The theme for this year's event is "Deep in the Paws of Texas". The gala was originally scheduled to be held in September 2021, but has now been postponed.
