OPEN TO UTMB MEDICAL STUDENTS ONLY
The UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 Weldon G. Kolb, MD Scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to 3rd and 4th year medical student(s) at UTMB Health who meet high academic standards and express and interest in pursuing a career in family medicine. Past recipients have gone on to family medicine residencies or to practice family medicine.
The Weldon G. Kolb, MD Scholarship was the first scholarship created by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP) Foundation twenty years ago. It was established to honor a past president of TAFP, Dr. Weldon G. Kolb. Dr. Kolb practiced medicine in La Marque, Texas, in Galveston County, for more than 45 years. He is also a graduate of UTMB Health, and served as president of the Galveston County Medical Society.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship should read more about it and download the application attached to this email. Applications for the 2016-2017 scholarship are due by April 28, 2017. Selection and notification of recipients will be completed by May 3, 2017 and the scholarship will be notified on May 4, 2017.
