2016 Family Medicine Research Day

Resident physician Francisco Bueso, MD presenting to a group of residents and faculty during Research Day 2016The Department of Family Medicine held its annual Research Day on Thursday, May 19, 2016. All UTMB Health Family Medicine Residents participated, as well as many faculty members. 

First-year residents presented posters on their case report projects. Second-year residents presented their work on a collaborative continuous quality improvement project focused on hypertension.

The third-year residents worked on teams that developed, researched, and wrote HelpDesk Answers (HDAs) for the Family Physicians Inquiries Network (FPIN). All three of the HDAs have been submitted for publication in FPIN's Evidence-Based Practice, and were presented at Research Day.
