Tricia Elliott, MD was quoted in a July 2014 article in the STFM News in support of the new Institute of Medicine's (IOM) Graduate Medical Education that Meets the Nation's Health Needs. Dr. Elliott currently serves as the chair of the Academic Family Medicine Advocacy Committee and is a strong advocate for academic family medicine.

Among the many changes the report recommends is a change in the way Medicare payments in support of graduate medical education are distributed so funding is strategically targeted to disciplines and communities to bring about desired changes to the health care workforce.
