The University of Texas Medical Branch hosted an open house and free health fair on Saturday, August 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Primary Care Pavilion. The event was titled "Back to School for All Ages."  This event offered the Galveston community the opportunity to view the newly reopened Primary Care Pavilion and tour the upgraded clinic facilities.

With more than 50 UTMB and community vendor groups offering visitors healthy fitness activities and games, as well as prizes for kids and free backpacks full of school supplies, there was something for everyone.

The Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Rehabilitation Services worked together to offer activities and information on living an active and healthy lifestyle.  There was an obstacle course and information on healthy eating was handed out to each person in a recycled tote bag that included a jump rope and a piece of fruit.

Special thanks to all the vendors and volunteers who made this event successful!
