Jerry Kruse, MD, MSPH presented a Family Medicine Grand Rounds on Thursday, June 6, 2013. Dr. Kruse's lecture was attended by faculty and residents from the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine as well as guests from around UTMB Health.
Dr. Kruse is CEO of Southern Illinois University Healthcare (SIU Healthcare) and past president of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). He also serves as Executive Associate Dean of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU-SOM) and a tenured professor in their Department of Family & Community Medicine.
Dr. Kruse is considered an authority on healthcare systems and ways of knowing, having presented on these topics to many national and international audiences. His Grand Grounds lecture was entitled "Healthcare Reform: The Triumph of Reason Over Power".
