Family Medicine Residency Program Receives Accreditation Renewal From ACGME

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) recently renewed accreditation of the UTMB Health Family Medicine Residency Program for an additional four years. Dr. Tricia Elliott, Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Director of the program expressed her pleasure at the announcement as she shared it with the Department of Family Medicine on May 24.

The UTMB Health Family Medicine Residency Program began accepting trainees in 1971, and has graduated more than 250 physicians in its more than forty years. The program is currently structured as a 10-10-10 program training a total of 30 residents in the 2013-2014 year. In 2009 the program added an Integrated Rural Training Track.
