Dr. Tricia Elliott, MD, Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Residency Program Director for the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine, was sworn in as parliamentarian of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP) at their Annual Session and Scientific Assembly on July 13, 2012 in Austin, Texas.

Two UTMB Health alumni were also sworn in to positions with TAFP. Dale Ragle, MD is the 2012-2013 treasurer and Ajay Gupta, MD is the 2012-2013 vice-president.

Two additional UTMB Health alumni were honored at the ceremony. Henry J. Boehm, MD, was named the 2012 Physician Emeritus for his longtime service to medicine and Edwin R. Franks, MD was named the 2012 Philanthropist of the Year.

About 400 family physicians and other healthcare providers attended the five-day assembly, and on Friday night our own Dr. Tricia Elliott wowed the crowd with her performance of jazz standards at the TAFP Foundation Night of Jazz and Art.
