Chief Resident Recipient of Thayer Award

Chief resident Rory Bradt, DO (center) with chair Barbara Thompson, MD and program director Tricia Elliott, MD after being presented with the Thayer Award for Excellence in Teaching.The John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine and the 2011-2012 Osler Student scholars have awarded Dr. Rory Bradt the Thayer Award for Excellence in Teaching.  

The Osler Student Scholars call for nominations from medical students for Residents that embody sound scientific knowledge, compassion towards patients, and dedication to learning and teaching and his students responded enthusiastically praising Dr. Bradt for all that he has contributed to help them learn. 

Dr. Bradt was presented with the award at the November 15th Osler Club where he was also recognized for his outstanding dedication to education and medicine.

“We are extremely proud of him and all he has done in truly being an ambassador for our Family Medicine Residency Program across UTMB.  Thank you for your excellence and leadership,” says Dr. Tricia Elliott, Family Medicine Residency Program Director.


Dr. Bradt is a third year Family Medicine Resident and also serves as co-Chief Resident in the Department of Family Medicine.
