Dr. Sagar Kamprath joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2019 as the Integrative and Behavioral Medicine Fellow. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor

Dr. Kamprath earned a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Reading, Pennsylvania and a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed a residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program. 

Dr. Kamprath is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Kamprath's clinical interests include Ayurveda (traditional Indian medicine), mindfulness, Kampo (traditional Japanese medicine), nutrition, and calisthenics. As a medical student, he completed a scholarly project exploring the efficacy of mindfulness meditation as a modality to improve pain perception and blood pressure in older adults with back pain. He has traveled extensively to Japan for global health training (he is fluent in Japanese), and has studied the aging crisis in Japan, as well as medical traditions of Japan (Kampo) and India (Ayurveda). In May 2019, Dr. Kamprath presented his work to the World Organization of Family Doctors' Asia Pacific Conference in Kyoto, Japan.
