Jonathan Teran, MD, CAQSM

Dr. Teran joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2024. He is a board-certified family physician seeing patients at the Family Medicine Clinic – Island East. Dr. Teran earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Teran completed his residency training at the University of Texas Tyler Health Science Center’s Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Teran completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship from Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport Louisiana.
Dr. Teran is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Teran's research interests are in regenerative treatment options for musculoskeletal injuries. His clinical interest are in taking care of chronic conditions that afflict the greater Houston/Galveston population, serving Latino and underserved communities, and ultrasound guided procedures for various musculoskeletal conditions.
