A Personal Note from Dr. Khan

I was born in India and moved to the United States when I was 1 year old. I grew up Galveston and attended Ball High School. I attended University of Texas for my undergraduate degree and attended Ross University School of Medicine for my medical degree. I have strong interest in research and have been involved in a variety of projects in pathology and anesthesiology.

I have developed a strong interest in Family Medicine due to its incredibly broad nature, which requires a firm understanding of countless medical conditions that patients could potentially be suffering from. Successfully overcoming this problem-solving aspect and properly diagnosing a patient is a challenge I willingly accept. Nothing beats the satisfaction gained from not only having years of hard work pay off, but more importantly, utilizing my ability to positively influence the life of an individual undergoing unfortunate circumstances.

The Family Medicine residency program at UTMB is perfect fit for me because of its outstanding curriculum, warm atmosphere, and the fact that it includes a strong emphasis on behavioral medicine, integrative medicine, and research. It is a dream come true and an honor to be back home and complete my residency training here at UTMB.

During my spare time, I enjoy playing sports and listening to music. My favorite activities include basketball, football, weight training, tennis, reading, and singing. As an island resident, I enjoy the beach, the local restaurants, and the strand.
