A Personal Note from Dr. Bueso

Although I grew up in Texas, I am of Honduran descent and this has allowed me the privilege to be exposed to a rich and diverse cultural background. I enjoy traveling and take every opportunity to do so whenever possible. While studying finance at The McCombs School of Business I spent time abroad in Reutlingen Germany at the European School of Business. After graduation, my interest in medicine and my desire to travel lead me to Guadalajara, Mexico where I was able to experience the world both socially and academically from two very different angles. After completing medical school, which included my fourth year in San German, Puerto Rico, and an internship at New York Medical College, I am at long last back home in Texas!

I am no stranger to medicine and you could say I have a strong family history with four of my uncles and my father being practicing physicians. After long, thoughtful discussions with my family, my wife and my young daughter (who can’t really speak yet) I decided and was given the opportunity to work here at the Department of Family Medicine at UTMB. It could not have been a better match for me as it combines my love for medicine (in a strong academic, research driven institution) as well as satisfying my appetite for adventure, the beach, fishing and seafood! The future is looking bright and my hope is to one day be a clinical director at my own private practice in Houston, Texas. The dream gets closer, one beautiful sunny day at a time.
