A Personal Note from Dr. Syed

I moved to Texas when I was 3 years old but I like to say I'm a Texas native! I attended Texas A&M University for my undergraduate degree and went to Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. After finishing medical school, I was ready to come home to this great state!

UTMB was my first choice because of their commitment to patient care, and the training offered, which included a required Integrative Medicine aspect. UTMB physicians look at patient care through a thoughtful lens, incorporating complementary therapies with conventional medicine in order to take into account the whole person. Their vision paired perfectly with the future I saw for myself as a Family Physician. I want to be able to facilitate the wellness of my patients' mind, body and spirit and be able to offer them clinical services as well as an alternative, natural approach that pairs well with their lifestyle. The required Integrative curriculum has helped me teach my patients a different perspective of health care and I cannot wait to learn more!

I have laid down roots in Texas and hope to give back by continuing to practice within the Greater Houston area. This allows me to stay connected to family and friends and the city I've called home for 25 years. In my spare time, I love exploring the amazing restaurant scene in Houston, going to concerts, traveling and hanging out with family and friends!
