A Personal Note from Dr. Simpson

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I attended Prairie View A&M University where I majored in Biology. After college, I became a teacher in the Spring Independent School District where I taught 6th/ 7th grade Math and Science. I then attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. During my family medicine rotation is where I fell in love with having to be a well-rounded physician.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and PLAYING GOLF.

I was initially interested in UTMB because of the close proximity to my hometown, but that was overshadowed by the excitement that was shown on my interview day. It is such a family environment around the department you will not mind being away from your “real family”.
