A Personal Note from Dr. Linebarger

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas but went to high school in a tiny mountain town in Idaho called Bonners Ferry. Idaho is where I developed a love of nature and hiking and camping. I then went to UT Austin where I rowed for Texas Crew for two years (Hook-em Horns) before studying abroad in Sydney, Australia for a year.

After graduating I backpacked through South America, Asia, and Europe, then spent several months in West Africa volunteering at a hospital. In the spirit of adventure, I settled back in Sydney for medical school where I lived another six years before moving back to Texas and starting residency in fabulous Galveston. I love living in Galveston! There is so much this coastal town has to offer, with something to do every weekend. What a vibrant and diverse location.

Professionally, my interests lie in Behavioral and Integrative Medicine. I'm passionate about preventative health, mindfulness/meditation practices, and educating patients on the importance of mental health in relation to physical wellbeing (using the biopsychosocial model). And to change it up, I also love working in the urgent care setting!

In my spare time I enjoy cooking and baking, SCUBA diving, Crossfit, laying on the beach, and playing with my backyard chickens and my Australian Shepherd puppy (Kali).
