New Family Medicine House Call Service

Are you a Family Medicine patient with limited mobility or without access to one of the our current locations?
If so, you may be eligible for an old-fashioned House Call.
In the true spirit of family, UTMB’s Family Medicine providers are now offering an expanded House Call program to our Family Medicine patients. A Family Medicine patient is an individual who has a designated UTMB Family Medicine primary care provider (PCP). Patients with limited mobility and those without convenient access to clinical facilities are suitable for home visits.
This service will address patients’ chronic care needs. Because of safety and scheduling issues, acute care illnesses and medical emergencies will be referred to:
- Stewart Road Family Health located at 6710 Stewart Road in Galveston,
- Our temporary Family Medicine clinic, located in the Fast Track area of the UTMB Emergency Department (2nd Floor of UTMB Trama Center)
- Or to another health care facility appropriate for the patient’s needed level of care.
Medicare covers many house calls under conditions noted above, some insurance plans may also. Patients will be responsible for charges if not covered. Our basic charge for a self-pay visit is $125.
