Residency Program Qualifications All graduates of three-year family practice residencies are eligible to apply. Board certification is desired, but not required. Fellows must possess or be eligible for a Texas medical license. Description Fellows will spend 12 months living and working in a rural Texas community under the supervision of an adjunct clinical faculty member with an established practice in that community. Direct supervision will be provided by clinical faculty at the Fellowship site. In addition, Department of Family Medicine faculty will make site visits at least quarterly. Under the supervision of department faculty, fellows are required to conduct a research project and to provide teaching for UTMB Family Medicine residents.
