Residency Program Application Process The University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals participate in the National Residency Matching Program in accordance with the policies of the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association. All applications must be submitted through Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). An application submitted outside of this process will not be considered. Applications will become eligible for review when they include: three letters of recommendation from physicians, medical school transcript, USMLE transcript, personal statement and Curriculum Vitae. Applicants will be selected for interviews based on the quality of credentials as noted in their application. Successful applicants generally have passed USMLE Steps 1 and 2 on the first attempt and graduated from medical school within the last three years.
