Mission Statement

The Patient Advisory Board for the Department of Family Medicine seeks to identify problems, concerns, weaknesses within the system and offers suggestions to improve the quality of patient care.

What We've Done!

The Patient Advisory Board serves as a focus group for:

  • Telemedicine technology improvement
  • Family Medicine strategic planning
  • Alternative medicine
  • Clinical trials

Other changes resulting from Patient Advisory Board efforts:

  • Addition of handicap parking spaces in the UTMB Primary Care Pavilion parking lot
  • Addition of children's play furniture in Family Medicine Clinics wait areas
  • Enlargement of Primary Care Pavilion lab
  • Creation of volunteer positions for Primary Care Pavilion "way finder"

Newsletter

The Patient Advisory Board produces a Family Medicine Newsletter in an effort to keep all of our patients informed of news worthy topics. Copies are available in the clinic.

The newsletter is also published online through this website.
