Family Medicine Training Resources


The Department of Family Medicine has selected a number of training modules, video courses, and references to be available to anyone interested in learning. Some of these modules are published by other companies or departments, and some are developed in-house. These modules are intended to help staff and faculty increase their technical skills and work more efficiently and effectively.

Computer Basics
Backup Your Computer
Published by Microsoft. A how-to article that shows you how to use Windows XP's backup utility to back up your files. All users should back up their files on a regular basis.
 
Burn a CD in Windows XP
Published by Microsoft. This article describes the functionality of the CD recorder feature. When you use Windows XP, you can write data to a CD-R, or write and rewrite data to a CD-RW. In addition, you can erase data from a CD-RW, but not from a CD-R. Includes video of process.

Find faculty provider numbers
To find UTMB provider numbers, follow link to iUTMB (the UTMB intranet homepage). Scroll down to the Clinical links on the left side of the page. Locate "Clinics Ed/Training" and click on it. On the next page, click on "Helpful Information". Under the OSA section, find "Provider Master". This Excel spreadsheet lists all provider numbers for all UTMB providers.
