The University of Texas Medical Branch’s Department of Family Medicine in Galveston, Texas, is seeking faculty for their Research Program (http://fammed.utmb.edu/research/). Candidates should have an advanced degree (MD or PhD) in a relevant discipline with experience in clinical or community-based research and a record of federally funded research. Current departmental research focuses on: health promotion with early disease detection and chronic disease management.

UTMB has many research resources including intramural funding sources. There are many diverse, collaborative opportunities on campus, including research centers of excellence focused on Aging, Aging and Hispanic Health, Diabetes, Women’s Health, as well as a General Clinical Research Center and an Institute for Medical Humanities.

Associate/Assistant Professor

The University of Texas Medical Branch’s Department of Family Medicine in Galveston, Texas is seeking an Osteopathic family physician to join the Resident Program faculty. Duties include teaching residents and medical students and direct patient care in the Family Medicine Center, Urgent Care Clinic and inpatient service 9on call). Candidates should be board certified (AOA or ACGME) and have a valid, unrestricted Texas medical license. Residency teaching experience preferred. This position is full-time. Hours may vary from a standard 8-5 day.

Galveston, Texas is a barrier reef island off the Texas Gulf Coast. A culturally diverse community of approximately 60,000, the island is located 40 miles south of the Houston metropolitan area. Numerous outdoor recreational and cultural enrichment opportunities abound in both areas.
